American Hip Hop

Tyga, born Micheal Ray Stevenson, grew up in Compton, California. He took a keen interest in Hip-Hop growing up and was inspired by artists such as Lil Wayne and Eminem. He started his rap career in 2011 when he was signed to Cash Money Records, a label home to the likes of Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. Tyga made a variety of mixtapes before releasing his debut album ‘No Introduction’. However, it was his second album ‘Careless World: Rise of the Last King’ which contained singles “Far Away” and “Rack City” that made Tyga’s success grow. Tyga has since released three more studio albums and a collaboration album with Chris Brown. He has been sucessful in the charts in recent years, with songs such as “Ice Cream Man” and “Ayo”.
